1. Lettuce Detox Smoothie

detox-smoothies

Lettuce makes a great base for a detox smoothie thanks to its mild taste and overall nutrient density. Thanks to the antioxidative power of ginger and the energy from avocado’s healthy fats, this homemade detox drink is perfect for any cleanse you might have in mind.

Ingredients

  • Filtered water – 4 cups
  • Romaine lettuce – 2 cups
  • Fresh parsley – 2 tablespoons
  • Fresh ginger (peeled and chopped) – 1 tablespoon
  • Raw cucumber (peeled and closed) – 1 cup
  • Kiwi fruit (peeled and chopped) – 1 fruit
  • Avocado (pitted, scooped) – 1 fruit
  • Optional: Stevita stevia (or any other sugar substitute) – 1 teaspoon
  • Optional: spirulina – 15-30 tablets (we recommend EnergyBits®)
  • Optional: D-ribose – 1 teaspoon
  • Optional: celery (chopped) – 1 cup

Directions

  1. Put about 1 cup of ice in a blender, then top it with all other ingredients.
  2. Blend well. Add more water if you feel the drink is too thick to your taste.
  3. Enjoy!

2. Liver Detox Booster

detox-smoothies

Easy to make and extremely effective, this simple detox drink works best during a liver cleanse. Activated charcoal is a great natural way to pull out most types of toxins from out of the body, and the ascorbic acid in lemon juice acts as a powerful antioxidant to speed up your detox. Last but not least, the collagen powder helps to promote liver regeneration.

Ingredients

  • Purified water or chilled dandelion tea – 3 cups
  • Collagen powder (we recommend the one from Great Lakes) – 2 tablespoons
  • Sea salt – ¼ teaspoon
  • Activated charcoal (our choice is Bind) – 2 capsules
  • Lemon juice – juice from 1 lemon
  • Optional: Stevita stevia (or any other sugar substitute) – ¼ teaspoon

Directions

  1. Put all ingredients in a blender, besides collagen powder.
  2. Blend well at high speed.
  3. Once everything is blended well, add the collagen powder and blend on low speed.
  4. Serve over ice and enjoy!

3. Green Cleansing Smoothie

detox-smoothies

Full of natural antioxidants, anti-inflammatory compounds, vitamins, and minerals, this universal green cleanser is a great detox drink for any occasion. As a pleasant bonus, collagen powder supports regeneration where it’s most needed—meaning it’s not just a detox drink, but a great recovery smoothie in general!

Ingredients

  • Parsley – 1 bunch
  • Cilantro – 1 bunch
  • Cucumber – 1 cucumber
  • Celery – 2-3 stalks
  • Lemon juice – juice from 1 lemon
  • Ginger root (peeled and chopped) – about 2 inches
  • Collagen powder – 2 tablespoons
  • Filtered water – ½ cup

Directions

  1. Put all the ingredients besides the collagen in a blender.
  2. Blend well at high speed.
  3. Once the smoothie is well-blended, add collagen and blend again at low speed.
  4. Enjoy!

4. Tropical Detox Smoothie

detox-smoothies

For those who want an effective detox drink with a tropical vibe, this recipe is one of the best options. With a healthy base of celery and spinach, the pineapple and kiwi provide zesty sweetness—along with a good dose of antioxidants for a quality cleanse.

Ingredients

  • Filtered water – 1 cup
  • Spinach – 2 cups
  • Celery – 2 stalks
  • Pineapple (peeled, chopped) – ¼ cup
  • Kiwi (peeled, chopped) – 1 fruit
  • Banana (peeled, chopped) – 1 fruit

Directions

  1. Put all ingredients in a blender.
  2. Blend well at high speed.
  3. Add more water if the smoothie feels too thick to your taste.
  4. Pour over ice and enjoy!

5. Kale, Green Apple, and Almond Detox Smoothie

detox-smoothies

As a detox smoothie base, kale is definitely not for everyone. Many people are intimidated by its strong flavor, but dealing with it is definitely worth the cleansing benefits this green provides. The right ingredients can help to smooth out kale’s boldness, and almond milk is one of the best options here!

Ingredients

  • Almond milk (unsweetened) – ⅔ cup
  • Kale – 2 cups
  • Celery (chopped) – 1-2 stalks
  • Green apple (cored and chopped) – 1 fruit
  • Flaxseed (ground) – 1 tablespoon
  • Optional: Honey – 1 tablespoon (or 1 teaspoon of a sugar substitute like Stevita stevia)

Directions

  1. Put one cup of ice in a blender, then top it with all other ingredients.
  2. Blend well at high speed.
  3. Add water if the smoothie feels too thick.
  4. Enjoy!

6. Zesty Green Detox Smoothie

detox-smoothies

If you think most detox smoothies taste bland and boring, you should definitely try this one. Besides the usual detox-oriented ingredients like spinach and cilantro, it’s also full of flavor (and vitamins!) thanks to the added ginger, pineapple, and lime.

Ingredients

  • Filtered water – ½ cup
  • Spinach – 1 cup
  • Cilantro – 1 handful
  • Pineapple (peeled and chopped) – ½ cup
  • Green apple (cored and sliced) – 1 fruit
  • Banana – 1 fruit
  • Fresh ginger (peeled and chopped) – about 1 inch
  • Fresh lime juice – 1 tablespoon

Directions

  1. Put all ingredients in a blender.
  2. Blend well at high speed.
  3. Add water until you reach the desired consistency of your smoothie.
  4. Enjoy!

7. Vibrant Yellow Detox Smoothie

detox-smoothies

Who said all detox drinks are green? This one is vibrant yellow, and it comes with a whole lot of potential benefits. Squash serves as a fabulous source of iron and folate, kumquats provide antioxidants and flavor, and turmeric… Turmeric has basically all health benefits imaginable, ranging from anti-inflammatory and antioxidative to anti-aging and anti-bacterial.

Ingredients

  • Filtered water – 1 cup
  • Yellow squash (chopped) – 1 squash
  • Orange (peeled) – 1 fruit
  • Kumquats – 1 oz
  • Ginger (peeled, chopped) – about 1 inch
  • Turmeric – ½ tablespoon
  • Hemp seed or flax seed – 1 tablespoon

Directions

  1. Put one cup of ice in a blender, then top it with all other ingredients from the list. Optionally, you can skip the ice if you don’t want your smoothie to be too cold.
  2. Blend everything at high speed.
  3. Optional: garnish your smoothie with some extra seeds for added fiber.
  4. Enjoy!

8. Energy and Cleansing Matcha Green Detox Smoothie

detox-smoothies

Antioxidants are the most important compounds the body needs for a deep cleanse, but in some cases an extra dose of energy can help to speed up the process. In this detox drink, the healthy fats in avocado provide nourishment while the antioxidants in matcha and lime help to neutralize trapped toxins.

Ingredients

  • Filtered water – ½ cup
  • Avocado (pitted and sliced) – ½ avocado
  • Spinach – 1 cup
  • Matcha – 1 teaspoon
  • Lime juice – juice from 1 lime

Directions

  1. Put one cup of ice in a blender, then top it with all other ingredients from the list above.
  2. Blend everything at high speed. Add some more water if the drink feels too thick.
  3. Optionally: add a sugar-free sweetener or a tablespoon of honey for taste.
  4. Enjoy!

9. Almost-a-Mohito Detox Smoothie

detox-smoothies

The combination of lime and mint isn’t just delicious, but also fabulous for detox. The vitamin C in limes is a powerful antioxidant with significant anti-inflammatory action, while mint has a soothing effect on all the digestive system, improving absorption of healthy nutrients.

Ingredients

  • Filtered water – 1 cup
  • Spinach – 1 cup
  • Cucumber (chopped) – 1 cup
  • Mint – 1 bunch
  • Lime juice – juice from 1 lime

Directions

  1. Put all the ingredients in a blender.
  2. Blend well at high speed.
  3. Enjoy!

10. Green Spirulina Detox Smoothie

detox-smoothies

Besides the nutrient-dense spinach and the antioxidant-packed ginger, this detox drink features spirulina, a healthy algae rich in chlorophyll, vitamins, and valuable phytochemicals. The ascorbic acid from lemon improves the absorption of iron from the spinach, thus supporting red blood cell production.

Ingredients

  • Filtered water – ½ cup
  • Spinach – 1 cup
  • Ginger (peeled, chopped) – about 1 inch
  • Lemon juice – juice from 1 lemon
  • Cucumber (chopped) – 1 cucumber
  • Spirulina – 5-10 tablets (we recommend EnergyBits®)

Directions

  1. Put all ingredients in a blender.
  2. Blend at high speed until smooth.
  3. Add some water if the drink feels too thick.
  4. Enjoy!
