Ancient Healing Strategies for Modern Times

Many today are stuck in a state of weight-loss resistance, wherein they cannot lose weight, regardless of perfect diet and regular exercise. They also often suffer from low energy and dysregulated blood sugar and hormones. Through much research and personal experimentation, I’ve figured out a diet and lifestyle strategy that makes all the difference in optimizing hormones, blood sugar levels and promotes healthy weight-loss and weight maintenance. The ancient healing strategy is called Diet Variation, or feast/famine cycles, and is based upon the lifestyle and dietary habits of our ancestors. I’ve been using it with clients who have been unable to lose weight for years, with remarkable success. Moreover, the Diet Variation has also helped me to get leaner, balance my hormones and increase my energy more than ever before. Curious to learn more about these ancient healing strategies? Read on, and check out CHTV Episode 157: Diet Variation and Ancient Healing Strategies on the topic here.

Ancient Healing Strategies

Last winter, I was in Wyoming and loved digging into the history of this amazing place and studying the American Indians, buffalo herds and native cultures. In fact, part of my multi-therapeutic approach (MTA) in working with clients incorporates these ancient healing strategies and diets. Many ancient cultures, including the American Indians, followed patterns of fasting and feasting according to the availability of foods. Their feeding patterns brought natural balance and well-being to these tribes until the intervention of modern day diets were introduced. In the last few years, I have done research uncovering scientific facts that substantiate why these cultures and their diets worked so well. Now, in our modern society where diseases run rampant, many natural practitioners and doctors are closely investigating our ancestors eating habits finding ways to reverse chronic symptoms and suffering. Jackson Hole Trip – Ancient Healing Strategies

Wyoming Tribes

In 10,000 BC, a Paleo Indian culture was established in the Great Plains of Wyoming. These Indians were nomadic and lived in caves, following the buffalo herds and used stone weapons. It wasn’t until 7,000 BC that they built shelters and in 1,000 AD they had permanent homes. These Indian tribes, such as the Cheyenne, lived strong healthy lives until the white men came to Wyoming in 1742. As we infiltrated their land, we started the process of devastating their cultural habits and wiping out their foods sources. By the 1870’s, the Americans deliberately wiped out the herds of buffalo to get rid of the Indians. In 1876, the war with the American Indians started, and the US Army tried to get rid of their food supply. It is no surprise that the health of these people fell apart, as they were easy targets for diabetes and other chronic diseases never present in ancient times.

Feast & Famine: A Way of Life

Delving into the literature about their diets has been an illuminating experience. Obviously, they didn’t have grocery stores that provided foods of all kinds 24/7. They were forced to follow the seasons of food availability and as a result, their cells thrived with health and energy. For example, in the winter the tribes would subsist on fats: especially the organ fat from the kidneys, liver and gut – and would give their dogs the muscle meat! What they cherished most was the highest saturated fat. Other tribes, known as the Sheep Eaters of Wyoming, lived high in the mountains and adapted their diet by eating bighorn sheep as their mainstay for winter survival. And believe me, these sheep were hard to hunt. As they became fat adapted (their cells could efficiently burn fat for energy), their endurance increased and they were able to chase down herds without a problem. The fat adaption gave them the stamina to hunt aggressively. Jackson Hole Trip – Ancient Healing Strategies In the summer, indigenous tribes would eat roots and berries, prickly pears, tepary beans, wolfberries, mesquite pods, mustard seeds, cholla blossoms, acorn squashes, pumpkins and a variety of gourds (a much higher carbohydrate diet). These proved to be very beneficial because the mesquite pods, acorns and the acorn powder were a type of resistant starch, that proved very important for their gut microbiome (healthy balance in the gut) to prevent diabetes and insulin resistance. Resistant starch passes through the intestines and ferments in the colon, producing short-chained fatty acids that we need to produce energy in our bodies. In fact, this is true today: we need resistant starch in our diets. Examples of resistant starch include legumes, green bananas and plantains, potatoes, oats and rice. As an aside, because of the amount of the sun they were exposed to in the summer, their Vitamin D levels would rise, making them more insulin and hormone sensitive.

Preparation of Game

Samuel Hearne, an explorer in 1768, wrote an article about the preparation of caribou among the indigenous tribes around the Hudson Bay area in Canada: “Of all the dishes cooked by the Indians, a beeatee, as it is called in their language, is certainly the most delicious that can be prepared from a deer only, without any other ingredient. It is a kind of haggis, made with the blood, a good quantity of fat shred small, some of the tenderest of the flesh, together with the heart and lungs cut, or more commonly torn into small shivers; all of which is put into the stomach and toasted by being suspended before the fire on a string. . . . it is certainly a most delicious morsel, even without pepper, salt or any other seasoning.” As Hearne noted elsewhere, community members tended to select only the fattiest parts of the animal, or nutrient-dense organ meats, throwing the rest away….”1

Weston Price Observations

In the book “Nutrition and Physical Degeneration” written by Weston A. Price, he suggested that similar practices were maintained during the early twentieth century among communities living inside the Rocky Mountain Range in far Northern Canada, “…They cycled between the summer cultivation of starches and fruits and far greater reliance on fats from animals (particularly organ meats and marrow) during winter…the successful nutrition for nine months of the year was largely limited to wild game, chiefly moose and caribou. During the summer months the Indians were able to use growing plants. During the winter some use was made of bark and buds of trees. I found the Indians putting great emphasis upon the eating of the organs of the animals, including the wall of parts of the digestive tract…These Indians obtain their fat-soluble vitamins and also most of their minerals from the organs of the animals. An important part of the nutrition of the children consisted in various preparations of bone marrow, both as a substitute for milk and as a special dietary ration.”2

Sustainable Long Hunts

Were these dietary practices of feast and famine able to sustain the male hunters during long hours of chasing prey? Absolutely. The Coahuiltecan tribe, located in Texas, were studied by the Spanish colonizer Cabeza de Vaca for 8 years starting in 1538. He observed “…During winter they hunted buffalo, deer, and javelin, while during the summer and fall they were sustained by fish, plants, and starches such as the mesquite bean. In what has been described as a “feast or famine economy,” animal-based diets in winter would thus give way to gorging thanks to “the ripening of fruit, or tuna, of the prickly pears [which] typically meant days of feasting until the fruit ran out.” During the winter period of hunting for animal proteins and fats, de Vaca noted the ability of Coahuiltecans to maintain aerobic activity for long periods of time: “The men could run after a deer for an entire day without resting and without apparent fatigue. . . one man near seven feet in stature. . . runs down a buffalo on foot and slays it with his knife or lance, as he runs by its side.”3

Food Sources Diminished

Unfortunately, as food sources changed or weren’t available, the Indians started developing diabetes because their diet switched from low carbohydrate meals to a more maize centered diet. And with the lack of resistant starch from acorns, etc, and the inability to switch back and forth from the winter feasting on fat and saturated fat to the summer time feasting, this led to the reliance of more European grains. As a result, nutrients such as magnesium, zinc, iron, antioxidants of A, C and E, phytochemicals and bioflavonoids found in the plants and beans consumed by these indigenous cultures were greatly diminished.4 Also, the over-reliance on maize increased iron deficiency and a greater susceptibility to infection.5 The depletion of wild game and an over-reliance on maize became so challenging for the Ancient Pueblo Indians that they became turkey farmers to alter their nutritional intake, thus increasing iron, protein and B12 into their diets.6 Gary Paul Nabhan, an ethnobotanist from Arizona, performed studies on the Pima Indians on behalf of the Native Seeds/SEARCH Foundation. He researched the difference between the starches naturally cultivated and gathered which created a lower insulin response, and their more recent diet of newer strains of maize and white potatoes, which increased higher levels of insulin production. When healthy non-diabetic subjects were fed 6 foods that were eaten before European influence such as mesquite pods, acorns lima beans, yellow and white tepary beans and a traditional strain of corn, the subjects showed lower blood sugar levels. Also in the study, it was found that prior to contact with European influence, the Pimas consumed grain-like seeds of psyllium (AKA plantago) that has also been linked to lowering fasting blood sugar levels. And finally, the berries traditionally used by Native Americans can be associated with the regulation of lipids (cholesterol, etc) and regulating blood sugar markers.7 Jackson Hole Trip – Ancient Healing Strategies

What we Have Learned

If we look at the last half-century, it has caused stark changes in lifestyle that departs from seasonal food availability. In these modern times, we are constantly in a “feast” environment, or food abundance, which I believe causes an increased risk for certain diseases including cancer. But how can we incorporate these ancient healing strategies into our daily lives? I have been using these ancient healing strategies to help the most challenged clients, and have found that when they break out of their modern-day patterns of munching food all day long, they start to thrive. Why did dietary restrictions, fasts, and forced, seasonal diet variation (feast/famine cycles) promote health in indigenous cultures? Science indicate that the body thrives on using fat for fuel instead of glucose as our energy source. The body also thrives on periods of fasting, where we give the digestive system a rest, giving our body a chance to do some house cleaning as it gobbles up unwanted debris (autophagy). This can be accomplished by restricting food intake for periods of time: whether it is intermittent fasting, 24 hours fasting (dinner to dinner) or a block fast such as 4 consecutive days per month.

Variation is a Must

Even if we do not have indigenous tribes in our family line, all our ancestors, no matter where they lived, experienced times of abundant foods and times of different and narrower choices. Just because we now have choices that seem to span every food group at any time, that doesn’t mean that is a blessing for health. Our bodies are genetically programmed to adapt to periods of feast and famine. Switching back and forth from a low carbohydrate, ketogenic diet (low carb, moderate protein and high healthy fat) to my Cellular Healing diet, has proven very efficacious for many with weight-loss resistance, insulin resistance and various chronic illnesses. In addition, adding days of fasting has helped greatly. This is diet variation at its best.

Mix it Up

Let’s say that we are following a ketogenic diet for many months or years. Although cells can derive fuel from fat, at some point, the body might say, “This is my fuel and I want to conserve it because I want to survive.” From genetic ancestral ties, the body instinctually knows that famine cycles can come at any time. So it may decide that it wants to hold on to its source of precious fat. One of the things the body will do in this case is block the insulin receptors (this is not insulin resistance). As a result, the body stores fat. Here is where following ancient healing strategies and feasting patterns are so beneficial. When we add in a few feasting days (eating 100-150 grams of healthy carbohydrates daily) in the mix of following a ketogenic diet, we remind the body that it is not starving and it’s OK to burn fat. It then becomes an efficient fat burner again. Since implementing Diet Variation (feast/famine cycles) with clients and my own family, I’ve learned some tips for readers to test for themselves. My 5-1-1 Rule is a great place to start, which means 5 days of the week you follow a lower carb or ketogenic-style diet, 1 day of the week you do a 24 hour fast (dinner to dinner) and the remaining day of the week you do a feast day, eating plenty of healthy carbs. The feast day reminds your body that there is no need to hang on to excess fat stores. It has worked like magic for many who were unable to lose weight. The 5-1-1 rule can and should be modified on a regular basis in terms of fasting and feasting days, always dependent on the person and condition. For some, a 4-2-1 Rule works well, for others a 2-2-3 Rule. The magic is in the variation, which involves shifting meal timing and rotating foods and healthy fats. Specifically, I’ve found that taking 7 feast days a month is very important for regulating hormones and supporting thyroid function. For women, this means feasting during your period week, or perhaps starting a few days before the period starts depending on the length of your cycle. The feasting days’ function to increase insulin, used in many hormone conversions like T4 to T3. Many clients who suffered from hormone dyregulation have begun using these ancient healing strategies and have observed increased energy, weight-loss and better mood. . . perhaps from eating more of their favorite foods too!

Magic in Adaptation

Still, what works for one may not work for others. Many of my thyroid clients and those with adrenal fatigue seem to do better with 2-3 feasting days within their ketogenic or Cellular Healing diets. For feasting days, healthy carb ideas include sweet potatoes, berries, beets, carrots, peas and more legumes. Even treats with raw honey or maple syrup and some ancient grains are delectable and fine for some of us to eat every once in awhile. Bottom line: your diet must sustainable for long-term success. Incorporate healthy, delicious and satisfying recipes from Meredith Dykstra, C.H.C., our very own healthy chef whiz, like keto lemon cheesecake or a flatbread pizza. And if you are someone with food addictions, it is best to give yourself planned days of higher carbs to not be tempted to cheat. By following these variation suggestions, we are eating like our ancient relatives which will start to change the health of your gut microbiome.

What Diet is Right for Me?

How do you know what diet is right for you? For some, 3 days of carb feasting works when following a ketogenic diet, and for others, doing the keto diet and adding only 1 day of fasting or feasting is beneficial. Currently, I fast 2-3 days a week (from dinner to dinner) and then enjoy 2 feasting days in between. I have also incorporated eating seasonally. In the summer, I eat 100 gms of carbs on average daily, and in winter, I follow a ketogenic diet. However, I am now experimenting with a keto diet for 2 weeks and then out of ketosis for 1 week. Stay tuned for results! All in all, there is magic in adaptation and variation because it optimizes our hormonal responses (insulin, leptin to burn fat for energy, thyroid hormones, sex hormones, etc.). Eating all the time is detrimental to our health. Don’t eat less, eat less often. Let’s follow these ancient healing strategies and thrive with well-being and radiant energy.

PompaCore Cellular Detox™ – A Top 5 Strategy To Create Your Best Health Ever!

The Likely Reason You Don't Feel Well.

Think of your body as a bucket. Now imagine the toxins that surround us in daily life are the liquid that slowly fills that bucket. With each toxic exposure, drop-by-drop, your bucket becomes more full. A drop here and there isn’t such a big deal, as our immune systems were designed to handle a degree of toxicity. However, chronic exposure to an onslaught of chemical, physical and emotional stressors fills up your bucket each day, and at some point, the bucket begins to overflow. It may take a few decades before your bucket spills over, but once it does, cellular inflammation is triggered, symptoms arise, and disease manifests.
Sadly, the tactics, treatments, and downstream detox that got people well in the past do not work nearly as well today because we are sicker and more toxic. The epidemic is at the cell, and the detox MUST go there to be effective. We need to recognize that the massive increase in neurotoxins we are exposed to is like no time in man's history. Many of these chemicals are new to our bodies. They have become ubiquitous in our everyday lives, filling our buckets drop by drop, shutting down natural cellular detox pathways, and even changing DNA to express diseases or unwanted symptoms. Whether it’s weight-loss resistance, hormone dysregulation, thyroid problems, diabetes, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, fibromyalgia, autism, autoimmune, and even cancer, the answer is to go “upstream” to the source and address toxicity and its effect on the cell to achieve restored health. I’ve always said, “If you don’t heal the cell, you won’t get well.” Perhaps here I’ll be more specific: if you don’t detox the cell, you will never get well. I believe periodic detoxification is for nearly every human being on the planet, but it must be done right to get results. And how does one properly detox the cell? By using a systematic approach, I call PompaCore Cellular Detox™. Note: This information is not just for the sick and challenged. Anyone looking to live a longer and healthier life needs to understand these cellular detox and healing principles. When it comes to anti-aging, this is the true science.

If you don't detox the cell, you will never get well.

What is PompaCore Cellular Detox™?

PompaCore Cellular Detox™ is a process I learned and created through my own health challenges and those I coach back to health, which improves cellular function, so the body can detox and heal itself. The approach incorporates my 5R’s of PompaCore Cellular Detox and Healing™, which has become a roadmap to fixing the cell and explaining the epidemic of inflammatory driven chronic diseases and the growing number of unexplainable, over-medicated illnesses. The 5R’s is a tool and simple strategy for understanding and repairing the complexities of cellular pathways that have become damaged by the toxic onslaught of today’s world. Using the 5R’s to repair the cell upstream's natural detox pathways while keeping the downstream detox pathways open (lymph, liver, kidneys, and gut), and including true binders to assist in removing toxins, is what I call PompaCore Cellular Detox™. Therefore, PompaCore Cellular Detox™ goes upstream to target the source of illness and involves three components:
  • Applying the 5R’s principles as a roadmap to fix the cell
  • Opening and supporting critical detox pathways
  • Utilizing true binding agents to remove toxins from the cell
In contrast, PompaCore Cellular Detox™ is not simply …
  • A colon cleanse (good to help with constipation and clear toxins from the colon, but not far enough up-stream)
  • A foot bath (good for edema in lower legs, but I’m not convinced of any detox benefit)
  • A raw juice fast (if using greens and not a fruit, you will get some fasting benefits to support detox at best)
  • A coffee enema (good to move toxins from the liver and toxic bile complex, but not far enough upstream)
  • A bottle of chlorella tablets (not a true binder)
  • 7-10 day herbal cleanses (not true binders)
Although these strategies and countless others can help detox, they are too far downstream to make the impact needed to remove toxins at the cellular level. Again, one must find and remove the source of illness to begin the journey back to health. The 5R’s provide the roadmap to fixing the cell, but the source of toxicity must be removed properly whilst keeping detox pathways open and supported to provoke cellular revitalization. Including a true binding agent (or agents) in the protocol is critical to preventing re-circulation of toxins once they move out of the cell. Many detox agents are used today, but few are true binders, thus having little to no effect. Examples include chlorella, often promoted as the “metal magnet,” but in real human tests makes no change in the toxic burden. There are many 7-10 days herbal detox cleanses that promise to change your life but again fall short of any real change. Many of these products are even dangerous because they are weak binders, meaning they simply stir up toxins without completely removing them from the body, thereby allowing them to cross back into deeper tissues (like the brain). This is where the distinction lies between PompaCore Cellular Detox™ and other forms of detox. Utilizing this system has made all the difference in my clients’ results because it ensures toxins are safely and completely removed by considering the entire detox process: from the cell upstream and moving through the downstream pathways and out of the body.

The Three Amigos Robbing Your Vitality

Amigo #1: METALS We have grown up in what is called the “lead generation.” It was everywhere, from gasoline to paint, and it is said it will take four generations to be bred out of our bodies and environment. The number one exposure of lead is actually our mothers in utero. I can speak personally about this because my wife’s lead ended up in all three of my biological children, which created several unexplainable challenges early on in their lives until we detoxed it correctly. As far as mercury exposures, our parents were the first generation to get amalgam fillings in their teeth, containing 50% mercury that vaporizes directly into the brain. My generation got hit the hardest by increasing vaccinations and more amalgam fillings than any other generation. This qualifies us as the “mercury generation” and the opportunity to pass it on to our children for at least four generations. Most practitioners today agree that heavy metals are at the root of many illnesses, but very few understand how to truly and safely remove them from the body. This is my greatest pet peeve in alternative health care. People are told that chlorella and other herbal concoctions will take care of their heavy metal detox. As mentioned, these are not true binders of heavy metals and will not pull a heavy metal out of the body, let alone from the deep nerve tissue where it bio-accumulates. Worse yet, many are told after 3-6 months of a detox program that they are metal-free. In reality, it takes 20-30 years of low dose exposure to accumulate heavy metals; to insinuate that it will come out in a few months is simply impossible. Please read my articles on when detox becomes dangerous for more on this topic: Part 1Part 2, and Part 3. Amigo #2: MOLD But it doesn’t stop with heavy metals. Biotoxins from mold are arguably more toxic. God warns people about mold and even directs them regarding how to handle it in the Bible in the book of Leviticus Chapter 14. Today, mold is an even greater problem because of new construction methods that can feed its growth. Toxic mold is evil and nasty, and I have seen it ruin many lives. The sad part is that most practitioners do not understand it or the proper testing and detox method. For more info on mold and how to safely detox it see Cellular Healing TV episode 73. Amigo #3: HIDDEN INFECTION Hidden infections are oftentimes the thing that keeps many from getting their lives back. They are difficult to detect and difficult to get rid of. They come in the form of root canals that harbor anaerobic bacteria that no antibiotic or herbal killer can reach because they are deep in microtubules that remain even after the root is extracted. Cavitations in the jaw left behind from tooth extractions (like wisdom teeth) will often leave a space that breeds infection. The anaerobic bacteria from the infection slowly work their way into your bloodstream, causing major immune issues and even triggering autoimmune disease. Lyme disease is perhaps even more misunderstood than heavy metal and mold challenges and goes undetected in countless so-called unexplainable illnesses. The problem is for years, western medicine didn’t recognize Lyme disease as a real illness, and the treatment was simply a round of antibiotics. If you didn’t get well, then you didn’t have Lyme; it was “all in your head.” Today we know it is, in fact, real but still very difficult to detect and kill. Lyme will even occur with co-infections such as bacteria like Babesia and Bartonella. These guys are nasty, opportunistic, and hard to kill. For more info on the ISPOT Lyme test, co-infection testing, and more, watch Cellular Healing TV episode 72. Lyme is a stealthy, intelligent survivor that can morph and switch from a spirochete form, which can drill deep into your tissues, to a cyst that drugs and herbs can’t kill. And if it were not hard enough to kill, it will hide and protect itself from the immune system by co-habiting in and around mercury. I’ve always said that I could never get rid of my candida until I got my metal levels down to a certain point; this is also the case with Lyme. Many people do not get well after Lyme treatment years because they do not address the heavy metals issue or do it correctly. PompaCore Cellular Detox™ must be a part of detoxing infections like these from the body, or you will not get well.

Very Important

If one of the “big boy” sources of toxicity is not detected and removed, what I call the three amigos (metals, mold, and infection) will never be a lasting solution to a health challenge. When the source of illness remains, i.e., someone is ill yet continues to live in a moldy home, the individual will never fully recover regardless of diet and lifestyle changes. Only when the interference has been removed can the body’s innate intelligence execute the healing. Once external toxins have been eliminated as much as possible, internal toxins that have bio-accumulated overtime must be removed as well. As stated and emphasized, most cleanses fail to remove toxins at the cellular level. I overhear conversations and have had many myself, with people who recognize the need for detox and wish to do a “cleanse” in attempts to feel better. But does it make logical sense that in 10 days, you can remove what took 20-30 years to accumulate? And what about the issue of using a downstream approach without incorporating true binding agents? These points are rarely considered. True detox is no quick fix; it takes time and massive effort but is transformational. This is why the clients of the doctors I train and myself teach the process: so people can move forward with the knowledge and information needed to stay the course for an appropriate amount of time. As stated, I have nothing against coffee enemas, colon cleanses, or some of the other herbals cleanse out there; however, they are all too far downstream to have a lasting impact. Remember, you must get to the cell to get well.

Are You Looking for Help?

If you are reading this and have many of the symptoms I discuss relating to neurotoxic illness, hormone imbalance, autoimmune, or other unexplainable illnesses, you will need a practitioner to coach you through the process. This is why I have trained doctors around the country and even offer virtual coaching for those in areas we do not have a trained practitioner (for more information on working with a trained practitioner, call my office at 800-833-2941 or search for a trained PompaCore Cellular Detox™ office by zip code). Granted, some just want to be healthier and could utilize the Core Cellular formulas based on the 5R’s, support some of the main downstream detox pathways, and utilize the true binders mentioned in this article for a few cycles and improve their health. I still personally do PompaCore Cellular Detox™ several times a year to maintain my health. I always tell my wife, “I can never go back,” meaning I will never let myself get sick ever again. Real detox at the cellular level is the key, especially for someone with my genetically poor detox pathways.

PompaCore Cellular Detox™ Part 1: Applying the 5R's

Within PompaCore Cellular Detox™, I always use my 5R’s as the roadmap, and these principles remain the foundation of my approach to fixing the cell. PompaCore Cellular Detox™, and the 5R’s within it, is not a product but a clinically proven strategy that has helped thousands get their lives back after mainstream medicine has failed them. The process is not a quick-fix band-aid but rather a guide for doctors and their patients to understand how to support all health challenges. The following steps are often addressed simultaneously, but it depends on the case. The goal is not to focus on a specific condition but to fully support the body’s inherent ability to heal itself. I believe God gave the concepts of PompaCore Cellular Detox™ and the 5R’s to me, and I’m blessed to share the information with those who are struggling and living without answers. Here’s a quick review of the 5R’s of PompaCore Cellular Detox and Healing™ (please see links to individual articles for more extensive information and my personal stories): R1: Remove the Source My protocol for each client begins by determining which sources of stress are causing body-wide damage and removing them as soon as possible. R1 removes the toxic source accumulated over time in the body; it’s truly what PompaCore Cellular Detox™ is all about. I would have never recovered my health had I not removed my mercury amalgam fillings (but removal MUST be performed properly or detox becomes dangerous, read my series on safe detox here: Part 1Part 2, and Part 3). Most allopathic doctors cover symptoms with medications, while alternative practitioners do the same with supplements. Neither approach gets people truly well. Getting “knee to knee” with clients and digging deep into their health history is key to figuring out what caused the sickness. Toxic stressors quickly shut down detox pathways and allow other toxins to bio-accumulate. These typically include the three amigos: biotoxins from mold and Lyme disease, infections, and heavy metals like lead and mercury. For more info, read the complete R1 article here. R2: Regenerate the Cell Membrane
Because the cell membrane holds the cell's intelligence and plays a major role in detox, turning genes on and off, and regulating hormones, regenerating the membrane is at the core of a solution to the growing number of unexplainable symptoms and degenerative diseases seen today in epidemic proportions. In healthy individuals, the supple lipid bilayer of the membrane allows nutrients to flow inside easily and toxins and free radicals to leave unimpeded. If inflamed, nothing can come in and out, so the cell becomes a toxic wasteland, and illness results. The membrane must be regenerated for detoxification to occur and elicit body-wide healing. For more info, read the complete R2 article here. R3: Restore Cellular Energy
Cellular energy is the gasoline of the cell, and nothing runs or functions without it. As nutrients flow into the cell, they feed the powerhouse called mitochondria, the cellular structures which produce ATP (aka cellular energy). Without adequate production of ATP, cells are unable to detoxify or regenerate properly. What’s more, the lower your ATP, the more inflammation is occurring at the cellular level. Individuals lacking ATP have become an epidemic in America and suffer from fatigue, brain fogdigestive problems, and hormone conditions. Without raising cellular ATP, symptoms will not be impacted by treatments. For more info, read the complete R3 article here. R4: Reduce Cellular Inflammation
Systemic cellular inflammation drives the epidemic of chronic diseases and hormone conditions so pervasive in our culture today. Specifically, I am referring to inflammation of the cell membrane that affects the way the cell communicates, detoxes, and ultimately changes gene expression, which can trigger a disease of genetic weakness. Understanding how inflammation affects the cell and downregulating it is essential to get almost any condition. Unfortunately, most health practitioners do not keep up with the exciting research in inflammation, detox, or gene expression, which would dramatically change their clients’ results. Top inflammation sources include dietary sugars and grains (strategy #1), bad fats, biotoxins, and toxins from mercury fillingsGMOs, and others. For more info, read the complete R4 article here.
R5: Re-Establish Methylation
Methylation is a biochemical process that affects many essential body functions, including DNA repair, detoxification, fighting infections, removing environmental toxins such as lead and estrogen, and more processes we’re only beginning to understand. The body needs methylation to regulate stress hormones, and when unable to methylated, it remains in a state of constant stress. Methyl groups are needed to turn on the stress response, but they are also needed to turn it off. Therefore, if methyl groups are lacking, a greater opportunity is created for toxins, inflammation, and other stressors to trigger bad genes. A toxic diet, lifestyle, and various stressors (whether chemical, physical, or emotional) can turn on bad genes by depleting methylation. On the other hand, a healthy lifestyle, clean diet and environment, and properly restored methylation can turn off a bad gene. Hence, our DNA is no longer our destiny. For more info, read the complete R5 article here.
As you can see, the 5R’s act as a guide to fixing the cell. But you mustn’t stop here to achieve successful detox and restored health. Read on to understand the next component of the process of getting your life back.

PompaCore Cellular Detox™ Part 2: Opening and Supporting Critical Detox Pathways

While gently applying the 5R’s to support the cellular pathways, it is just as important to start to open up the downstream detox pathways such as the lymphatic system, kidneys, liver, and gut before true binders are ever used. Just as there are three parts to PompaCore Cellular Detox™, there are three phases as well. First, there is a 1-2 month “prep phase” for detox pathways at the cell and downstream, where the goal is to simply start supporting the cell function (via the 5R’s) and not push to the point of detox until the pathways are strengthened. Even after the prep phase, it is important to note that the cellular pathways and the downstream pathways need to be supported throughout every phase. After the 1-2 months of the prep phase, we move into a “body phase,” that typically lasts 3-4 months, and finally, the most important phase of all: the “brain phase.” As stated, some typical types of cleanses, such as colon cleanses or coffee enemas, can be helpful in the later phases of detox (body phase and brain phase) to keep the toxins moving out of the body and not backing up, causing unwanted symptoms. A simple cleanse like this can be useful before or during PompaCore Cellular Detox™, but if you end there, you will never make it to where the true problem exists.

The Downstream Pathways

The lymphatic system is part of our circulatory and immune systems, made up of lymphatic vessels that make and move lymph fluid from tissues to the bloodstream. The body’s ability to detox begins with the lymphatic system, which helps clear the blood of toxins and takes stress off the other detox pathways by moving toxins further downstream for removal. Interestingly, the largest lymph tissue concentration surrounds the gut, so a properly functioning digestive system is critical to lymphatic health and successful detox. A Far Infrared sauna is a potent detox tool and can open up the skin detox pathway and take a lot of toxic stress from the lymph. (to read more about FIR benefits and my personal sauna detox protocol, click here). Another great lymph support is the ancient practice of dry brushing. To do it, simply buy a coarse bristle brush and firmly brush the skin towards the heart (avoid sensitive areas). I’ve found it’s convenient to dry brush in the shower stall before showering. Other ideas include rebounding, yoga, lymphatic drainage massage, deep breathing, and high-quality supplementation. The kidneys play a vital role in detox by extracting waste from our blood, balancing our body fluids, and forming urine to excrete toxic waste. Key kidney support tactics include supplemental support. Avoiding excess protein and consuming lots of pure water and potassium-rich foods like citrus fruits and grass-fed yogurts. Whey water, one of my favorite beverages and a tool I use for fasting, contains water, potassium, and sodium to support the kidneys via hydration and the removal of cellular waste. Drinking whey water daily will profoundly support your kidneys (and other detox organs as well) to start flushing out toxic waste. The liver is our greatest detox organ and so must be attended to during any type of detox. To open and support the liver during PompaCore Cellular Detox™, I recommend coffee enemas at times to push out bile from a toxic liver. One of the functions of the liver is to make bile, a fluid that aids in digestion. Without bile, our liver could not absorb nutrients nor remove toxins. However, when the liver is congested and over-taxed, the toxic bile gets trapped. When I like to use coffee enemas or a coffee enema in a suppository form, I like to support the liver in removing the toxic bile. Other ways to support the liver during detox include liver support supplements, herbs like milk thistle, dandelion tea, and by consuming lots of leafy green vegetables. The fastest way to heal the gut, which I’ve written about many times, including Strategy #3, is through fasting. There is simply a no better and more efficient way to downregulate inflammation and heal a leaky gut. Fasting, typically on pure water, probiotic whey water, or broth made from the bones of 100% grass-fed cows, gives the gut a much-needed break from digesting food so it can heal and seal damaged intestinal lining. I intermittent fast daily and include fasting in most of my protocols because of the dramatic results it provides, like accelerated gut healing, weight-loss, improved immunity, and generalized cellular regeneration. Adding in other downstream strategies is beneficial because the more you do to support your body, the better and faster you will get results. Practices include:
  • Following the Cellular Healing Diet, avoiding grains, sugars, and GMOs
  • Consuming plenty of fermented foods, such as cultured dairy and sauerkraut
  • Oil pulling (try it during shower time)
  • Drinking plenty of pure water
  • Taking therapeutic grade supplements (here’s an article on common vitamin deficiencies to get started).
  • Spending time in nature to regulate circadian rhythms and optimize vitamin D levels.
  • Getting regular chiropractic care and bodywork.
  • Maintaining a spiritual practice embracing daily prayer, meditation, and relaxation.
  • Moving your body each day and using burst training for weight-loss and anti-aging.
  • Sleeping deeply. Especially needed during the healing process, its impact on health cannot be overstated.
Next, I’ll explain the third component of the process of successful detox. Once the 5R’s are working to fix the cell and detox pathways are open and supported, ensuring that toxins are moved out of the body is essential to getting real results.

PompaCore Cellular Detox™ Part 3: Using True Binding Agents to Remove Toxins

I have done many articles and videos on PompaCore Cellular Detox™ and the 5R’s; however, perhaps the part of the process I speak the least about is using true binding agents. Not because it is any less important, but because this is where most practitioners really can cause harm. This is the step that makes it all work and come together. From beginning to end, there is a preparation phase (as noted in Part 2), a body phase, and a brain phase. The preparation phase of cellular detox pathways, as well downstream pathways, lasts about 4-6 weeks, and some support thereafter is also needed at times. The next phase (the body phase) is when the true binders are incorporated, and they are cycled in a 4-7 day “ON cycle” (when you take the binders) followed by a 7-10 day “OFF cycle” (when no binders are taken). The first 3-4 months' goal is to clear the body to set up a concentration gradient from the deeper tissues such as the brain. This is why I refer to it as the body phase. But the brain phase is where the magic happens. Eventually applying this process to the brain utilizing fat-soluble detox agents with a molecular clinoptilolite particle called CytoDetox™ (that not only crosses into the cell but into the brain), is truly a God-given gift to those crying out for answers. Removing neurotoxins that have bio-accumulated in the brain over the years is the key to why so many people have unexplainable symptoms, illnesses and “have tried everything” and still don’t feel well. It is also an answer for the hormone havoc epidemic that exists today, even in our children. Remove the interference, and the body will do the healing: this is where true hope lies, not in man’s manufactured chemicals. Most practitioners do not get to the cellular level of detox and rarely get upstream to detox the brain. Yet this is what it takes to allow the body to really heal. Remember, it is not the doctor but the body that does the healing: the healing comes from an innate intelligence that God put in the cell directed by the brain and nervous system. Any detox program short of this is not lasting. Furthermore, preventing re-tox, or autointoxication, throughout the entire process is a must. Most of the toxins are brought from the cell to the liver and dumped into the gut. Once in the gut, toxins must be transported out of the body not to be reabsorbed. Autointoxication causes dangerous symptoms and remains a common occurrence in most downstream detox programs, another reason that using true binders during detox is critical to get results safely. Again, health will only return once cellular functions are improved via the 5R’s, and real detox agents (that actually have the ability to pull toxins from the cell) are used to avoid toxin redistribution. This is how I got my life back, and now thousands of others, thanks to the growing number of doctors trained in PompaCore Cellular Detox™ around the country. I didn’t have the game-changing addition of the true binding agent called CytoDetox™ when I was detoxing. I believe the time it took me to detox will be cut in half for those who use this product. It is truly an amazing particle, and when combined with the cellular products and fat-soluble binders, a level of detox can be reached that was not possible until now. This is a fascinating time in cellular detox and what I believe will be looked back upon as a tipping point in detox healing.

The Multi Therapeutic Approach (MTA) and Bringing it All Together

Over the years, I’ve observed that it typically requires a Multi Therapeutic Approach (MTA) approach to achieve real improvements in health, especially if you’ve been suffering from a chronic condition and toxicity challenges for a long time. I know from personal experience and testimonials from those I coach that my top 5 strategies truly impact. The PompaCore Cellular Detox™ concept and the CytoDetox™ drops are both game-changers. Add in my other top 4 health strategies, and life can really transform. Each strategy has a powerful stand-alone effect, but the magic lies in the synergy of incorporating multiple strategies, which ignite massive change at the cellular level. Whether you’re looking to lose weight, improve brain function, or balance your hormones, PompaCore Cellular Detox™ needs to take place to see results. Also, fasting, burst training, controlling blood sugar, and diet variation work perfectly together to encourage the body’s innate healing systems to jump into action. It takes resolute effort to stay the course to properly detox and heal your cells, but the rewards of energy, vitality, mental clarity and physical fitness are so worth it. The important life lessons often need to be heard repeatedly until we “get it” and make the changes to live our healthiest lives and positively impact the world. Keep reading, researching, and relentlessly seeking the truth. Let me know what you think as you experiment with these powerful cellular healing tools, and remember for best results… GO 180°!

Key Takeaways for PompaCore Cellular Detox™:

  1. Use my 5R’s of PompaCore Cellular Detox and Healing™ as a roadmap to fixing the cell: Remove the source (R1) of toxicity and let the body execute the healing; Add quality fats to your diet to support the regeneration of the cellular membrane (R2) and help to balance hormones; Increase ATP (R3) via mitochondrial biogenesis to improve cellular function; Decrease chronic inflammation (R4) by dropping sugars (including grains) and bad fats from your diet and removing environmental and emotional toxins as much as possible; Re-establish methylation (R5) to support and control epigenetic gene regulation and prevent disease.
  2. Throughout the detox process, open up and continue to support detox pathways, like the lymph, gut, liver, and kidneys. Probiotics, fermented foods, coffee enemas, dry brushing, and fasting are helpful.
  3. Incorporate true binding agents to remove toxins from the cell. CytoDetox™ drops bypass the cell membrane to remove toxins like heavy metals, pesticides, chemicals, and biotoxins like mold and Lyme. Most importantly, the drops also cross the blood-brain barrier to remove toxins from the brain.
  4. Employ a Multi Therapeutic Approach (MTA). Incorporate the other 4 top health strategies: #1 Control Blood Sugar; #2 Diet Variation; #3 Intermittent Fasting; #4 Burst Training. Try burst training in the morning on an empty stomach (#3 and #4), follow the Cellular Healing Diet, and mix it up by experimenting with the ketogenic diet (#1 and #2).
  5. Include other downstream modalities to support and accelerate cellular healing, such as prayer and meditation, chiropractic care and bodywork, time spent in nature, daily movement, and quality sleep.
  6. Get tested. If you think something is amiss, there probably is. Find a practitioner trained in functional medicine and cellular healing who can run the right tests to determine your illness's source and support you on the path to recovery.
